We heard that whales migrated through Inner and Outer Brass (the two islands behind us) but we didn’t know for sure until today! Keith saw one first–it was actually breaching! After that we grabbed the camera and caught lots of pictures of flat water –well he did, my eyes are horrible when I look at distances so I basically hung out with binoculars and chased splashes–big splashes!
Keith got one picture below….but all you see is the splash–they are fast! The weather is rough now and there are too many white caps to have any real chance of guessing if there are more out there but rest assured we’ll be out there a ton over the next few weeks with our eyes peeled and will share pictures if we get a good one!
very cool!
How awesome! And here we were excited about the biiiiiig turtle in our backyard last spring 😉
they were doing trips through UVI to go whale watching as well. I did last years and it was a blast! I, unfortunately, live on the south side, so my chances of seeing this diminished. 😦
