If you’re happy and you know it

Clap your hands!

Warning– a random Happy Holiday post ahead.

We woke up this morning to FAST, ZIPPY internet!  Turns out 3G is finally here!  I can load multiple pages WITH pictures, ahh joy!!  That means I can catch up on my favorite blogs, read the news, do some online shopping (seriously Christmas presents took about a day apiece!!!)  I’ll have to take more pictures soon since I can now upload them in under a day!  Yes, I’m a freak but this will free up so much time for me and I’ll get to “play” more weeee!!

I love going to the post office these days, and getting the cards and goodies from folks “Up North”.  We are truly lucky and appreciate all the photo cards–there are definitely a LOT of super cute kids –that are by the way getting big way too fast!!!

The second batch of cookies is out of the oven, I’m about to put the third one in.  I love baking, its one of my favorite parts of Christmas, I usually make a million — double batches of everything and at least 6-8 kinds.  I have three kinds so far, I’d like to do a few other things but I doubt I’ll get to it and that’s ok.  Random side notes–finding sprinkles on the island is TOUGH–I went to like 5 stores.  I know they aren’t mandatory but they are fun!  I did find some, colored and red and green for those of you who are interested.  Also random….getting butter soft in the tropics is SOO much easier than it was in Virginia–it takes about 10 min 😉

I have the funniest kid in the whole world.  She narrates EVERYTHING to me and if she gets bored she just starts to sing.  Twinkle twinkle little star, the Alphabet, Happy and you know it.  She tells the chickens and dogs to watch out as we see them on the road, she LOVES trucks and we had to go down to the GORGEOUS harbor the other day because she wanted to “go see boats, mom”.  There were a million cruise ships in and I had some shopping to do so it worked out perfectly 😉

We got rain last night and some today which is filling up our cisterns (I know we think differently down here–we like rain).  We have two and the first one went empty the other day so I’m all about getting more water in there.

There is a local Festival tonight called Miracle on Main Street.  There will be a boat parade, steel pans and dancers, local food, the shops will be open.  Really looking forward to it and I think Sophia will go nuts!

That’s all for now, look for pictures soon!

How fun! We had the school winter show tonight and missed Iiiiiiiiia’s beautiful face. Sounds like you are enjoying your own island style show tonight. Hey, need your address for sending our VERY late Christmas card. Yeah, that’s what happens when your kid gets a black eye right before your picture appointment 😉 Late cards it is!
