I love the Olympics yes I do!

Its an excuse to remain glued to the television for two weeks – no one even questions it. I love hearing all the human interest stories about the players and learning all sorts of trivia about sports I knew little about. I may not remember it in two weeks but now its really important. For example, did you know that beach volleyball player Kerry Walsh covered her engagement band with a flesh covered band-aid after losing it in the sand in the first days of play? Ick all I can think of is peeling all that sticky off your wedding band…but whats important is important….and they did win so more power to them!

Ahh and then there is Micheal Phelps….dreamy, strong and just set a record of the most medals ever Even if you only watch swimming every four years its truly inspirational. I used to dream of being an Olympic ice-skater, I would be amazing. The fact that I wasn’t very good was of no consequence to me — I LOVED it, I practiced for hours each week and after all its all about the DREAM right?;-)

Here’s a cheat sheet to keep track of the medal count if your one of those competitive types.

Go USA, and Germany and an extra special good luck to the Virgin Islanders that are there! And if you are so inclined let me know YOUR Olympic dream was–you know you had one!I

Back in my days where I wasn’t so accident prone, I had big plans of being on the first women’s olympic soccer team. I loved it and wasn’t half bad. I ended up doing damage to my knee and couldn’t get dr clearance to play anymore. đŸ˜¦ There went that dream.

It’s fun to hear my kids already talking about their Olympic dreams.
