I can’t believe our month here is almost up. We leave Monday to head back to VA for a few days –pick up our boys Atlas and Mickey and head down to Ft. Lauderdale for the next portion of our crazy year. We’ll be there for three months and look forward to air-conditioning, using water –showers with pressure — oh I can’t wait!!!, bubble baths for Sophia, catching up with friends and family and doing some shopping in preparation for our return here.
Its a bummer to go now, we are just starting to get into the swing of things. On the positive side its been kind of a neat opportunity. I had time to fully explore without any pressure to get formal housekeeping up and running. It was a fun opportunity to be part tourist, part local. The cool thing is most people I’ve met REALLY love it here, they enjoy all that life here has to offer and make the most of it. When not working they go the beach, go to the pools, go out to eat, go diving and boating–they all have figured out their favorites and their patterns and enjoy them. I’ve gotten a lot of advice and different perspectives on island living already and look forward to forming some of my own opinions 😉
When we come back we’ll have the dogs, our furniture and unpacking and decorating will (hopefully) soon follow and we’ll be assuming more of a “normal” life–whatever that means in the islands mon!
We still have things to do before we go, more pool time, another trip (or two) to the beach, a long awaited boat trip on Sunday to the BVI’s–Foxy’s and Soggy Dollar Bar here we come!
Will try to keep things updated but the next week or so might not have too much as we move and get (re)settled.
